# Gmail Inbox Sync

#### What is Gmail Inbox Sync?

Keeping syncs tickets directly into each agent's Gmail inbox so you can see and respond to support tickets without leaving Gmail. By default, all mailboxes you have access to will sync tickets into your inbox. If you are not using Keeping in Gmail, you may disable this syncing.

{% hint style="danger" %}
Only disable Gmail Syncing if you are NOT using Keeping inside your Gmail account and are only accessing Keeping via the Keeping web app (/inbox).
{% endhint %}

#### Managing Your Sync Settings

1. Go to **Preferences** in your Keeping settings
2. Scroll to the **Email Sync** section
3. You'll see a toggle for each mailbox you have access to
4. Turn the toggle **on** or **off** to control whether that mailbox's tickets appear in your Gmail inbox

{% hint style="info" %}
When you re-enable sync for a mailbox, Keeping will automatically sync recent tickets into your inbox. This may take a few minutes.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.keeping.com/help/preferences/gmail-inbox-sync.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
